There is no designated car park in Brynna, but it is still possible to park here before your ride. Starting out in Brynna Woods, you will work your way up through a calm corridor of the village and out into the bright green fields beyond it. You will then be faced by the imposing rise of Mynydd Coedbychan, a vast cone of earth that offers fantastic views across the surrounding landscape.
Ahead of you stands the wind farm of Graig Fatha, the UK’s first consumer owned wind farm, and it is just shy of this line of wind turbines that you are making for. Ride along the well-worn, yet sturdy, track over the summit where you will find the ruins of St Peter’s Church to greet you, making a fine spot to sit and rest after a tough climb. From here, you could link up with the Great Glamorgan Way route to Llantrisant Forest via the Taff Ely Ridgeway.
*Approximate time by horse. By bike will be quicker.
