Cresting above the heart of the Welsh Valleys, the mountain of Werfa boasts thrills, views and a deep connection to the land itself, as the origin point for Wales’s most famous hymn.
You can see the ancient cairn of Carn-yr-hyrddod about a kilometre south of the Bridleway and may choose to take a path down there to look more closely and to take in the spectacular southerly views.

Now a cornerstone of Welsh cultural identity, its integration into Welsh Rugby has made it a household song.
