There are over 3000 invasive non-native species (INNS) present across the UK. Some have greater negative effects on our native flora and fauna than others, such as by predation, competition for resources or overcrowding. It is illegal to cause the spread of some invasive species due to their significant negative effects, whereas other tropical species are commonly seen within our gardens.
